Events this week at the Yarmouth Town Libraries

YARMOUTH READS: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society

The Town Library Board & Library staff invite you to join us in reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. If you haven’t already, borrow or purchase a copy of Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer’s important work and start reading. We think you’ll enjoy it! Share it with your friends and neighbors.

Save the Date: YARMOUTH READS 2017 Wrap-Up

Mark your calendars now, for the wrap-up and community discussion to be held at the Lorusso Lodge at Flax Pond, off Whites Path in South Yarmouth on Sunday afternoon, April 30 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.. We’ll talk about war rations, the food that might have been available to the island captives, and just how many varieties of potato pie there are in the world…there will be a buffet, with a sampling of delicious pork and other “picnic” foods. The cost for the buffet is $5, with proceeds going to help defray expenses of the variety of YARMOUTH READS programs in 2017. Register at the Library’s website, at the Calendar of Events.

As part of our YARMOUTH READS 2017 we are coordinating a sock drive. Bring in a new pair of socks – any size – to either the South Yarmouth Library or West Yarmouth Library and a volunteer will distribute them as needed. A great community project!
