Welcome to Yarmouth,
The Residential Disposal and Recycling Center is located at 606 Forest Road, South Yarmouth, if your vehicle does not have a sticker, there are options available to dispose of household trash. The facility is open 7 days a week (excluding major holidays) from 7:30-3:30, forms of payment accepted include cash, check, and credit card, all payments are made at the Scale House, which is located in the center of the facility. The Scale House can be located by entering the facility through the main gate, traveling straight ahead, bearing to the right slightly just before the fueling station, the Scale House will be right in front of you.
OPTION 1:
"Pay As You Throw" up to 5 bags of household trash for $15.00 (plus recycling, for more info on recycling see the Recycle Guide above on the right side of the Waste Management page.) + $1.00 each additional bag. Once you have paid, you will receive a receipt, please take the receipt over to the Residential Drop Off Area, and show the receipt to the Gate Attendant, who will initial the document, that staff member will provide directions and respond to any questions you might have about recycling.
OPTION 2:
If you are returning to Yarmouth or staying for the summer you might consider a Disposal Coupon book, each book costs $100 and are available at the Scale House as well as the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall. Each book contains 10 coupons, each coupon allows the user to drive to the Residential Drop Off/Recycle area with up to 5 bags of household trash plus recycling, stopping first at the Gate House to turn in a coupon. (please pay close attention to the guide listed at the top of this web page, as recycling in Yarmouth may be a bit different than what you are used to. If this is your first visit to Yarmouth's Drop Off/Recycle area, you can access by turning right just after entering the main gate, the Gate House Attendant will be straight ahead as you enter the rotary on your left, who will gladly take your coupon and answer any questions you may have about the facility. As you enter the rotary, there are up to 10 roll off containers for house hold trash, the last half of the rotary is dedicated to recycling items such as metal, newspapers, mixed paper, single use plastic/tin/single use glass, batteries, clothing, books, ashes, oil/antifreeze.
Please reference the fee list for items that are banned from household trash here in Massachusetts. (all fee items must be paid for at the Scale House)
