Wetland Protection for Landscapers

Understand your responsibilities when working near wetlands.

All landscape improvement projects and landscape maintenance must be done in compliance with the state and local Wetlands Protection regulation.

All construction, grading, and vegetation cutting within 100 feet of a wetland resource area or 200 feet of a river must be approved and permitted by the Conservation Office or the Conservation Commission. The maintenance of existing landscape features is allowed without a permit.
