Summer Reading 2019: A Universe of StoriesSummer Reading has begun! Participants keep track of their reading times for a chance to win prizes. The more you read the better your chances! “A Universe of Stories” is sponsored by the Yarmouth Town Libraries, South Yarmouth and West Yarmouth Library Associations, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Under Sun, Stars and Sails A Whaling Family’s Life at SeaSouth Yarmouth Library Association's Sunday Author Series Welcomes Marsha Hall Brown Event is cancelled. Will be rescheduled. Author Marsha Hall Brown is a descendant of Nantucket whaling masters and the island’s founding families. Under Sun, Stars and Sails is the story of a family’s real-life adventures at sea during two whaling voyages in the mid-1800s. It is a unique story of a whaling master, Captain Joseph Marshall, his wife, Malvina Pinkham Marshall, and daughter Helen. Books will be available for purchase through Spinner Publications, as well as refreshments provided by the South Yarmouth Library Association. Reservations are strongly encouraged, as this is a popular series.

In July we will discuss Blackbird House by Alice Hoffman. An evocative work that traces the lives of the various occupants of an old Cape Cod house over a span of two hundred years. Join us!
