June Book Discussion Group

South Yarmouth Library

The South Yarmouth Library’s Book Discussion Group meets monthly. This Tuesday, we will be discussing Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut. Published 50 years ago, this book is a science fiction-infused anti-war novel about the World War II experiences and journeys through time of Billy Pilgrim.

Hear local musicians Bob Hagopian, Vince Kraft, Bill Archie, and Bob Aumueller perform from the American Song Book, along with some traditional country band tunes. On the lawn, weather permitting. Bring a lawn chair. No sign up required.

Save the Date! Summer Reading Program Kick-off Event on the lawn at West Yarmouth Library

Monday, July 1, 2:00 p.m.
West Yarmouth Library

Join us for Julie and Denya’s Global Music Adventure with Lisa Brown on percussion. An energetic, interactive concert featuring exciting fiddling and a sing-along with a  rhythm band. You’ll hear familiar songs and new songs, too. This is spirited, energetic fun! This event will also feature outdoor games, face painting, watermelon and fun for all ages!

Little Free Beach Libraries are open!

Little Free Beach Libraries are “open for business” in Yarmouth on a take-a-book-leave-a-book basis at the Bass River/Smugglers Beach in South Yarmouth and at Seagull Beach in West Yarmouth. Welcome, Summer!

Know someone with low vision or another reason why regular print books don't work for them? Perkins Library provides free large print items, talking books, and many other materials and services to Massachusetts residents who have trouble reading regular print or holding a book. Learn more at the South Yarmouth Library, where you can also borrow a Talking Book player and audiobook cassettes or get help applying for a free Perkins membership for yourself or a loved one.
