2019 Cecelia Siemen Scholarship
Open for Applications

The South Yarmouth Library Association offers the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts. The $3,000 award advances the study and knowledge of someone in the visual arts. To be eligible, applicants must have completed one academic year at a college or art institute by the end of the school year in which the scholarship is offered.

Applications are available now at the South Yarmouth Library or from the Library website. Applications include the completed form, course work transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, a portfolio, and personal statement. Experience classic short stories presented in a most entertaining way, by local Cape Cod actors. No registration is required, but come early for a good seat in
front of the fireplace at the West Yarmouth Library. This program is coordinated by Toby Wilson, who
sometimes reads a piece. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

Joanne C. Parsons wrote her debut novel, Kitchen Canary, the year after she retired from a career in eldercare. Through the Open Door was written at the request of the readers of her first book, who loved the characters as much as Joanne loved creating them. Reservations are greatly encouraged. New! March Book Discussion Group

Mark your calendars for the start of the Library’s Book Discussion Group at South Yarmouth Library. We will alternate fiction, non-fiction, short stories and classics. Meetings will be in the Leonard Room and last for an hour. March’s book will be The Art Forger, by B.A. Shapiro. Please come prepared to discuss the book and make suggestions for books the group can read throughout the year. Refreshments will be served.
