We Love our Library Users!Bring your overdue items to the Yarmouth Town Libraries, along with a donation to the Yarmouth Food Pantry, from now until February 28, and we will forgive your fines. This applies to overdue fines only, and does not cover lost materials.
The Pantry is always in need of paper products, laundry and dish washing soap, cleaning supplies and food storage wraps or baggies. We will accept donations at the South Yarmouth or West Yarmouth Library locations during the month of February.

Sock Drive for Yarmouth ReadsAs part of our Yarmouth Reads 2018 we are coordinating a sock drive. Bring in a new pair of socks – any size – to either the South Yarmouth or West Yarmouth Library and a volunteer will distribute them as needed from February through April this year. A great community project!

Year of the Dog Photo DisplayChinese New Year begins February 16. This is the Year of the Dog in the Chinese zodiac. The Library has put up a pet photo display. Bring in a photo of your favorite pet to the South Yarmouth Library, to add to a special exhibit in the Children’s Room. Guidelines for the Yarmouth Libraries Year of the Dog Photo Display We welcome photos of ALL furry friends to celebrate the happiness they bring into our lives. Photos will be displayed through March 15 in the Children’s Room at South Yarmouth Library and will be returned to the owner. Please Note: Photos should be at least 4x6 inches, but not larger than 8x10 inches. Limit photos to pets only. Fill out an "All About My Pet" form, available in the Children’s Room. Encourage your friends and neighbors to participate. SHARE THE LOVE!

Good Stories, Well ReadSaturday, February 17, 2:30 p.m. West Yarmouth Library Experience classic short stories presented in a most entertaining way, by local Cape Cod actors. No registration is required, but come early for a good seat in front of the fireplace at the West Yarmouth Library. This program is coordinated by Toby Wilson, who sometimes reads a piece. You won’t want to miss this. Doors open at 2:00 p.m.

Story Times in FebruaryPreschool Story Time Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. South Yarmouth Library For ages 3-5 and their caregivers. . Baby Story Time Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. South Yarmouth Library For infants-3 years old and their caregivers.

Save the Date:South Yarmouth Library Association Sunday Author Series: John Basile and Jazz on Cape Cod Sunday, February 25, 2:00 p.m. South Yarmouth Library Join us for this rousing review of "Jazz on Cape Cod: from Colombo to The Columns." Yarmouth author and Managing Editor of the Register newspaper, John Basile, will highlight the popular artists in the history of jazz on Cape Cod. Sponsored by the South Yarmouth Library Association. Refreshments will be provided; reservations recommended.

2018 Cecelia Siemen Scholarship Open for ApplicationsThe South Yarmouth Library Association offers the Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts annually. The $3,000 award advances the study and knowledge of someone in the visual arts. To be eligible, applicants must have completed one academic year at a college or art institute by the end of the school year in which the scholarship is offered.
Applications are available now from the South Yarmouth Library or from the Library website, www.yarmouthlibraries.org. Click on the large red bar on our homepage. Applications include a completed form, course work transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, a portfolio, and personal statement.
