Whether you have old Cape Cod roots or are descended from European families, you will learn something at this meeting. No registration required; free and open to the public.

Fine Forgiveness and Patron Appreciation WeeksOngoing - now until Sunday, February 26 Bring your overdue items to the Yarmouth Town Libraries from now until Sunday, February 26, and we will waive fines in exchange for donations to the Yarmouth Food Pantry. Donations of paper products, toiletries, laundry detergent, cleaning solutions and food storage wrap or baggies are always welcome. This applies to overdue fines only, not lost materials. Collection bins are at the South or West Yarmouth Libraries.

Munroe read to you by local actors Stephen Ross, Cathy Ode, and Toby Wilson -- in front of the fireplace at the West Yarmouth Library. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the West Yarmouth Library Association. This program is free to the public. Doors open at 2:00.

Author Talk: Newton Frohlich 1492: A NovelSunday, February 26, 2:00 pm South Yarmouth Library Fifteenth-century Spain was a time of the Inquisition, of torture, betrayal, and unexpected courage. The Muslim world was struggling with the West. The Christian world was fighting back, and the Jewish people were caught in the middle. Strong-willed characters are brought to life during this turbulent time by award-winning novelist Newton Frohlich. Reservations recommended. Sock Drive for Yarmouth ReadsAs part of our Yarmouth Reads 2017 we are coordinating a sock drive. Bring in a new pair of socks – any size – to either the South or West Yarmouth Library and a volunteer will distribute them as needed from now through April this year. A great community project!

Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual ArtsThe South Yarmouth Library Association offers the $3,000 Cecelia Siemen Scholarship in the Visual Arts every year, advancing study in the visual arts. To be eligible, applicants must have completed one academic year at a college or art institute by the end of the school year in which the scholarship is offered.
Applications are available now from the South Yarmouth Library or from the Library’s website. See www.yarmouthlibraries.org to download an application. Applications to the South Yarmouth Library Association are due April 30, 2017.
