Virtual Who-ville Express! Who-ville Art for AllImagine new ways to celebrate the season of joy and giving! Although we can’t be together this year, we can follow the tradition in new ways with “Grinchmas” activities and some goodies, too.
For many years we have had artwork from the students at Station Avenue Elementary School on display in our meeting room. This year we want to expand that opportunity to all who would like to contribute. But, we’re going to need a little extra help from you. Please create your own piece of art with a Who-ville theme and drop it off at either West Yarmouth Library or South Yarmouth Library in the designated Grinchmas Art Box. We will display your creation in our windows for all to enjoy from a safe distance. Deadline for your submission is Saturday, December 12. One entry per person and please be sure to include your contact information. The artwork will be on display until December 31.
Option #2: Send us a photo of your artwork and we will post it on our social media for those who can’t make it to the Library to enjoy. Send the photo to Mindy Herington at mherington@clamsnet.org

Family-to-Family Christmas Giving ProgramEvery year, the Yarmouth Town Libraries participate in the Family-to-Family Holiday Giving program sponsored by the Cape Cod Division of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to help families in need and children in foster care. This year, it will look a little different: DCF has created an Amazon wishlist from which you can shop. A child's name and age for each item, so you can include that in the gift message when checking out; this will help DCF correctly match each gift to the child who requested it.
We understand that this may be confusing for some people -- this is new for everyone, including us. Please feel free to contact us at either library or email ckaufmann@clamsnet.org with any questions or problems you encounter. The link to the Amazon wishlist is: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3KDQ7XMZQD6SV?ref_=wl_share
DCF asks that all shopping be completed online by Monday, December 14. We appreciate your participation in this Cape-wide community project.

Staff Picks: The Midnight Library by Matt HaigNormally I usually read non-fiction but the title intrigued me. It is an inspiring, compassionate, and empathetic novel where the author creates the concept of the midnight library found in the spaces between life and death. By choosing a different book from the shelves, the main character can live the life of a path not taken. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Librarians are like soul-enhanced search engines." It is well written and has an important life lesson for everyone.

Cozy by Jan BrettA group of clever animals finds an unusual but warm and furry home during Alaska’s long winter in Jan Brett’s newest snowy adventure. Cozy is the softest musk ox in Alaska, with the warmest fur you ever did feel. When a storm hits while he’s separated from his family, he starts to feel lonely–but not for long. As the snow piles up, animals start to notice just how warm and cozy Cozy really is. Visit JanBrett.com for a chance to see the making of Cozy. There are lots of free and fun activities on this site.
