Yarmouth Town Libraries now offer you curbside pickup of books, movies, music, magazines, and more.
Curbside pickup will be available by appointment only.
Staff members take all required precautions to ensure your materials are safe to pick up. We are wearing masks, and using bags that have been quarantined for the time period recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

- You must call the Library to set up a pickup time for requested materials.
- You can place holds on library materials through the CLAMS catalog (www.clamsnet.org) using your library card barcode and PIN. If you are unsure of your PIN number, please contact us at 508-760-4820 for South Yarmouth Library and 508-775-5206 at West Yarmouth Library.
- We are also filling new hold requests made by phone or by email at syarmouth@clamsnet.org and wyar_mail@clamsnet.org.
- At this time we can only fill holds placed on items that are available in the Yarmouth Town Libraries’ collections. The statewide delivery service among all libraries has not yet restarted. You can place holds on items from other libraries, but you may need to pick them up at the owning library or wait a while longer.
- Staff will call you to schedule a time for you to pick up your items. Any items not picked up will be removed and rescheduled.
- Please wait for staff to call you before coming to the Library. We will not fill unscheduled service requests.
- If you are feeling unwell in any way, please do not come and pick up your items. Let us know and we will hold them until you are well.
- All library users MUST wear a mask during pickup.
- We will place your items on one of the benches near the Library entrance in a bag with your name on it. The items have been checked out to you, and a date due slip will be inside the bag.
- If someone else is retrieving items when you arrive to pick up, please wait until they finish before retrieving your materials.
- For those who are unable to pick their materials up, we offer limited front-step home delivery to residents. Please call us at 508-760-4820 or send an email to syarmouth@clamsnet.org. Please request this only if circumstances make it difficult for you to pick up your materials yourself.
- You can return your library materials in the book drop at each library location (not Yarmouth Port Library, though). All returned items are being quarantined for a period of time before being reshelved or recirculated.

In the weeks ahead.Other libraries on the Cape may also be providing limited services in the weeks ahead. What each library can offer depends on their staffing, their building, and other factors. Please check with other libraries to learn what services they may be offering. Contact information for the CLAMS member libraries can be found HERE.
As of June 12, 2020, the Yarmouth Town Libraries remain closed until further notice, in order to protect the health and safety of our community and reduce transmission of COVID-19. All in-person programs and events for the foreseeable future are canceled. While the physical library is closed, the library’s online services are available 24/7 from www.clamsnet.org, as well as the Overdrive and Libby eBook apps, HOOPLA and the Boston Public Library (see their web site for information on getting a BPL e-card). Due dates for materials have been automatically extended. Overdue fines accrued during this time will be waived. Library card expiration dates have been extended. We are busy preparing our facilities and our staff for a safe reopening of the buildings. Please check our website and social media for updates on hours and services available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Yarmouth Town Libraries CONTACTLESS CURBSIDE PICKUP Practice strategic distancing: stay at least 6 feet apart from other people. Please wear a face covering: the infection spreads through contact with viral droplets from a cough, sneezing, and even normal talking.
The Library is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and library visitors. We:
- wear gloves to process materials, and change them often,
- regularly disinfect the book drop and other processing areas,
- wash our hands immediately after handling materials and after removing gloves, and frequently throughout the day,
- disinfect the covers/cases of all materials,
- “quarantine” for 24 hours all returned items before processing.
Please bring your returns up to our book drops; we cannot accept returns by hand during pickups. Restrooms and public computers are not available at this time.

Staff Pick: Hoopla Audiobook The Search for God and Guinness: A Biography of the Beer that Changed the World, by Stephen Mansfield Discusses the history of beer and how Arthur Guinness's eighteenth-century vision for his brand of brewed beer came about, as well as his family's continued philanthropy and role as a force for social good.
This book is really interesting, even if you're not of Irish descent. The company took extraordinary care of their workers and families, providing housing, health care, and paid time off. They sent all the worker's children to school plus so much more. This family's business model is used worldwide. It is served in 190 countries today! (source: Novelist)
